Default New A3 Question about shifting

Have a new A3 put about 500 miles over the weekend...love the car but have a concern about shifts. The car seems to cough between shifts when in sport mode. Just for a split second and only between shifts. I can live with it ... I just want to be sure its normal as I test drovea GTI and dont remember it making the same sound. The noise seems to be at rear of car near exhaust. After searching alot I sort of thinkthis might be related to the BOV ?? Any thoughts before I ask dealer?? Thanks

Hi tskeen. Welcome aboard. First off - I'm gonna take a guess and assume that your transmission is a DSG.
Second - the BOV is in the front towards the right side - not sure what you're hearing.
The guys with only two pedals may want to chime in on this one.

It's the DSG 'fart' we all know and love. When you get into the throttle a bit, you'll hear it as the car shifts. Perfectly normal.

Get the chip and the noise will get a little bit louder. Get a CAI and the sound will really pop!

Cheers!
