New Bike Rack prototype for A3! (need volunteer in NY)
Hi:
I Googled for weeks to find a trailer hitch solution for the A3 so I can do a hitch bike rack. No luck. The only hitch available require cutting a hole in the bumper cover.
For years, the Porsche community have used a bike/ski/luggage rack from Bird Automotive, which is the same style as a trailer hitch mount rack, but does not require a full blown trailer hitch.
Here is more info on their web site: http://www.birdautomotive.com/BikeRack.htm
I emailed them to see they have one for the A3, and here is his reply:
Thanks for inquiring. We do not havean A3rack yet but have done prototype work on it. It will be like the Audi TT or Boxster rack you have probably seen at www.BirdAutomotive.com
So, are there any one in the New York area who is willing to try this out? If this is available, may be even organize a group buy?
Thanks for your attention.
Paul
