Hi all,

I have a 99 1.6 A3 petrol, iv had it 2-3yrs & have had to do quite a bit of work since then just to keep it on the road. Today I went on a long journey & all of a sudden my abs light & brake warning lights came on.

When this happened I took my foot off the accelerator & applied my foot to the brake & clutched in to stop, then the car started to revv to the limiter by itself & would not stop till I pulled in & turned the car off.

I tried to start the car then & it just ticked over but wudnt start until I left it a wile, I also noticed when I did get it going to make the journey home (thank god we made it lol) that the power of the car had also reduced significantly. Could all these things be connected? Only thing I can think of is that I clipped a curb the other day at about 20mph. Iv also recently replaced a servo but there had been no warning light on before u did that?I'm a car novice but really want to be able to work these things out...
