Default Now the ECU upgrade is a serious consideration!!!

Hey all! last evening, i was a little happy that i did well on my final exam and i was driving quite fast. Next thing u know, some guy in a 90-93 Integrastarts to tailgate and as soon as i get a the space, i gave him a taste of theturbo. I soon slow it down and let him pass and then he starts to really move once he gets past me...and to my shock and surprise, i couldn't keep up.I topped out around 137 on an incline (guess it isn't electronically limited to 130) and the guy is long gone, leaving me behind with shame on my face.

First of all, i am quite frightened that an Ecu upgrade and its DV blowing tendencieswill have me fixing something every other week (I'm not to very technical so i won't be doing it myself), is this the case? Secondly, will the upgrade give me top end torque/hp increases that will be quite noticeable?

please help!

Night and day difference. You should be ok with the stock setup on stage 1. So far I've replaced 1 DV and did a check valve mod. Once thats done its pretty much good to go.

You probably encountered a serious or semi-pro racer who had modified his old Acura into something special. Sure a chipped A3 has much better high end perfromance. You can see that discussed on several forums concerning A3/S3 Audi's.

Thanks for the info guys. I was talking to a guy at work and he says that the factory DV is plastic and wouldn't tolerate the extra boost thus a metal replacement would be in order. I fear that a metal replacement would spark suspicion at the dealer so i think i'll hold off for now.

New to the forum. 2006 A3 Ocean Blue, Grey, Premium, Cold weather...ahhh who cares, I bought this thing because I gigle every time I step on the gas...I am hooker...will chip it shortly but would like further clarification on the DV valve replacement...I am an "end user" and not very mechanically inclined...please be very specific...can I order the "c" version from the dealer? Is that even neccessary? Can't wait for the extra power and frankly can't believe this car could be more fun.,,thank you all in advance for your time!!![:@]
