Question "pimpin up" my A3 ???????

My buddy planted this idea in my head and now I can't stop thinking about it. I guess, once you get a taste of power, you always want more ...

I have a 2007 A3 2.0T 6-speed manual

I am thinking about getting neuspeed's chip upgrade which ups the HP to 250 and maximum torque to almost 300 Ft-lb.

Now, since I am not too educated about cars in general, I am curious what people think about upgrading.

For example, is this going to wear out the parts quicker, is this too much strain on the transmission, wheels, axels, ... ?????

thanks in advance!

a chip upgrade is great, the most bang for the buck, as far as stuff wearing out faster: depends on how you drive, if you drive like a raped ape all the time, well, yeah, but if you only really get into it once in a while , you'll be fine.

That's funny. I've been thinking the same thing but afraid of wearing the engine out quicker and also voiding the warranty. Have you considered a suspension upgrade? I just got Eibach Pro-kit springs installed and it sits at just the right height and corners much better.

lol. no I wasn't going to do it until the warranty expired anyways, but still wanted some feedback.

And no I didn't think about the suspension upgrade ... but I guess I will now! lol!

Bobrok, you can wear out a stock engine prematurely....as mentioned, it depends upon your driving habits. The Pro-Kit springs are a cheap way to make the car look good. I also bought the RSB, and have absolutely no understeer. BTW, you can purchase an ECU programmer that allows you to return the car to stock settings prior to dealer visits. 245 hp/266 foot#.

getting your car chipped isnt really some crazy thing that will most likely ruin your car. My cars been chipped for 10 months, my friends cars been chipped for 8, and my other friend's for 8, and none of us have expierenced any problems except having a shitload more fun with our cars I don't know much about Neuspeed but I HIGHLY reccomend the REVO chip.

The most common things that can go bad is your DV (like 60$ fix) and your PCP which isnt expensive either but they are both easy fixes.
