I just picked up my first Audi -- a 2010 A3 Premium Plus with RNS-E Nav and iPod/Aux/USB (depending on which AMI cable you plug in) port in the glovebox.

Absolutely love the car but I'm stuck at trying to add A2DP streaming capability and there is so much conflicting information online.

I could really use clarification on one thing to start:

I wanted to use this kit (Audi MMI 3G Bluetooth Music Streaming - Home) but I think my car has the 2G (no joystick) MMI.

I saw this factory OEM kit from Audi for 2G (Bluetooth Streaming Audio) but it is listed for the A6/S6 so I'm afraid it won't work on my A3, even if they are both the 2G MMI.

Then I saw that Wikipedia article saying the A3s don't even have the real MMI but a "Pseudo-MMI" (link above) so now I'm totally confused.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

you have RNS-E, if it has a shiny bezel around the screen, then it is a new version and has AMI capability

 

so is this 2g or 3g ?
