Default Potential A3 Newbie

Hi Guys,

First post so i would like to say hello to all.

Anyway, i thinking of dumping my pony corsa to get an A3. I am specifically looking at the TDI's (1.9 or 2.0). Hopefully i will be able to pick up a 2nd hand jobbie that has done about 50k for about £10k (hopefully!!!)

Anyway, when i am out looking at potentials is there anything A3'esq that i should be looking out for?

Cheers

Welcome!

I'm not sure on the TDI's since I'm in the US and they don't think I would want one of those here. Stupid people! Actually, I'm a bit jealous that you have that option. As far as the engine on the TDI is concerned, make sure it has been maintained well and if you buy one near or after the timing belt change is due, then make sure it is done properly. That is the thing screwed up most by techs, at least on the Vdubs in the US. Otherwise, not sure about any A3 specific issues.

Cheers!

Go to this forum:

http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/index.php

You will be able to find more UK/Europe owners who might be able to give you more suggestions with the TDI line.
