First off just want to thank you guys for the help and for answering my dumb questions ahead of time. My bro is looking to get either an 07 or 08 A3.At first I wasn't a big fan of theA3 (I drive dodge magnumRT) but after going ona test drive and seeing them on the road the look has grown on my and now I'm all for him getting one. I'm apart of my car's forum and those guys have helped me out a bunch both purchasing it and modding the hell out of it. Told him this is the best place to get info but i'm afraid he is lazy and is not going to do any research!
Its still early and not sure what is a better fit the turbo or the 3.2l. Bro plans on doing some mods when he gets it aswell, such as intake, exhaust, maybe headers, tuner, probably some exterior accessories. To me the 3.2l would be the way to go since I would assume more performance mods but really I have no idea. So if you guys could just throw me any opinions or experience I would appreciate it.

That actually is an assumtion alot of people make. the 2.0T is the engine to go with for modding. I have heard of a guy that took his GTI with the 2.0T in it and did some internal upgrades and a larger turbo and is running in almost the 400hp range. The only down fall of the 2.0T in 07 and 08 is that its not offered with quattro but if thats not a big deal then go with the 2.0T he will not be disapointed. Oh and the 3.2 only cones with quatto and the DSG transmission so you can only get the 6spd w/2.0T

 

If he wants to mod...the 2.0T is unquestionably the way to go.

 

Not to mention the better fuel economy...even with a chipped 2.0T.
