Default Remote Start

Does anyone here have remote start on their DSG or know if it is possible. I know you aren't supposed to put remote start on manual transmission cars unless you have a clutch bypass. But I didn't know about the DSG. I figure it would work but any help would be appreciated.

I was wondering about that myself. If they have it in A4's or other models you would think that maybe its already programed in and you just have to change the vag-com code. Any one?

Last winter I wanted to put remote start, and they told me that no problem they could do it, so I asked them if they've ever done it before, and the answer was NO. So, i didn't trust them, to experiment with my A3. I cannot really tell you the answer, but they guaranteed 100% it would be no problems.

Check your warranty, as I recall Audi's states that remote starts are not allowed. I have no idea why as many other manfacturers offer remote start from the factory.

Here is what I found on-line in the "Certified" warranty part.
Damage or malfunctions due to misuse, negligence, alteration, accident or fire
– This warranty does not cover any damage due
to improper repair of the vehicle, improper installation of accessories such as alarm systems, performance-enhancing devices,
remote starters, other audio components or communications equipment, intentional or unintentional misfueling, use of the vehicle
in competitive events or damage caused by accident or accidental fire. This is not a complete list. Any alterations or installations
performed on a vehicle are subject to review by an authorized Audi representative.

Still have no idea why a remote start would be an issue, a chip I can understand but a remote start?

While I am an absolute non-fan of remote starters (to say the very least, then again, I don't like automatic transmissions either), the way I read the disclaimer it says"...improper installation of accessories such as... ...remote starters...", the key here being "improper". So, the question in my mind is, "Does Audi consider all remote staters to be improperly installed by definition", or "Are remote starters deemed improperly installed if they damage the car in some way?"

Thoughts?
