Default Remove Rear Speakers??

How do you remove the cover for the rear speakers in A3 (1999 3-doors). I want to set in some new speaker here, because it's empty, I think. I have tried with a screwdriver, but no success. I don't want to damage the cover or interior.

Must the new speakers be a dim of 165mm?

So if you have a solution for this, and maybe a picture, I would be grateful.

TrimsRemoving and installing rear side trim

Side trim

‒Remove rear seat bench and backrest split
‒Unclip side trim -1- from rear, starting at top.
‒Pull side trim -1- out of sill panel on inside.
‒Unplug connectors.
‒When fitting, first enter side trim -1- into sill panel on inside. [/ul][/ul]

Thanks for Your fast reply.

I understand now that I must remove the side panel for inserting/removing rear speakers, but how do you remove this panel properly?
Is a screwdriver ok to use or other kind of tools? I will not damage the panel or car, so how do I do this the safest way?

But first:
How do i remove the backseat?? Do I have to completly remove it? Is this safe when I replace this? Is it only the two big bolts I have to remove before removing the seats?

If anyone has a "real-time"-photo of this I would be very grateful, again

Hello again.

I have now tried this several times without success....
I manage to clip off a couple of those pins on the panel, but the rest of them are stucked! And i get a "bad" sound when i use some hardness... Like it's gonna be destroyed.

I don't have the sidepanel that you posted! I have a different one?!! The speakertrim is ex. lower than on the picture, and the panel is much more round in shape.

So have anyone installed rear speakers in a Audi A3 1999 mod? I have bougth 17cm speakers (pioneer) to install.
I couldn't remove the backseats (built in the car), but just the 2 parts (seat and back) that can be moved out of position.
