Reprogram w/Just One Key
Hi everybody. Wife and I just bought a 2007 Audi A3 2.0T FWD. We were given only one key fob that only worked manually and we've replaced the fob battery. After new key battery we tried ALL the usual reprogramming sequences & instructions you can find online (key in door, ignition, lock/unlock this and that, etc.) There's only one method I haven't tried and that's some guy on YouTube who disconnected his battery for 10min, then reconnected. Next he says to put key in ignition and turn on, leave for 10sec, and keep doing that (just the ignition part) until 10 times have passed.
Can anyone help? Really we're trying to avoid paying 100s on a key thru a dealer. Again, we only have the one key. The key fob battery is new, and the tiny light blinks red when you push the fob buttons. Just nothing works. I am able to unlock/lock manually, start and drive the car... Oh, and also do the manual roll down / roll up windows when holding key in door thingy (scared me at first haha!). Is there a possibility the key fob receiver on the car itself is faulty? If so, how to check/fix?
Here's the video reference above. I'm worried about the battery method because the SAFE MODE possibility I've read about:
