Default ?'s about exterior mods

I am wanting to change out the orange markers in the front bumper sometime in the near future. Not sure if I want to go with smoked or clear yet (leaning towards clear). Anyway, where have you guys bought yours from? Are you happy with the quality? Was the install easy or difficult? I have been looking at ECS.

Also looking at some blind spot mirrors, but the only ones I can find are heated and I don't have the cold weather package (ie, I don't have factory heated mirrors). Are all the A3 mirrors wired for heat and just not turned on? Or would I need to get completely new mirror housings? Seems like I saw somewhere that you just need to change a setting with VAGCOM...is this correct?

TIA

There were some early issues with condensation inside the lens with the ECS units. There are two ways to install, so try running a search or look in the DIY section. One way is more difficult than the other.

Also, Parts4Euro are supposed to be in the development process right now for the S-Line series A3s.

I'm not sure about the blindspots.

anyone know of a good site to find side markers to fit the 2007 A3 S-line bumpers? The ECS website that I have gone to told me they are not planning on producing one. They do have a smoke grey side marker for the 2006, but not the 2007. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

www.Parts4Euro.com are developing for the S-line now, but I don't think anyone has them now.

So ECS is not going forward with them? [sm=badidea.gif]

If you go with the ecs ones make sure you seal them with something cause mine are a piece of shiat, everytime i wash them there is water in there. Really makes it look cheap with a bunch of droplets in there.

Thanks for the tips. Anybody else changed out their corner markers with aftermarket ones from a company other than ECS?

I just installed smoked bumper and side marker lenses. I have an Ocean Blue car so I opted for the smoked vs clear. I love the look (those d@mn ambers just had to go...). I would imagine clear would look best on your ride.
Got mine from ECS.
Installation was a snap! 15 minutes tops.
As far as quality, initial impression is that they look solid, however, I've read that others were complaining about condensation. ECS said they'll replace them if there was any problems...we'll see...
