Default Service Interval ResetG

I've tried what seems to be every combination of commands, including those posted to this site and those in the service manual, to reset my service reminder. The reset screen reads something like, "Service past due 4900 miles, 120 days." Since I dutifully service the car myself I want to reset this feature but can't seem to do so. Any pointers from anyone?
Thanks, A loving A3 owner

The button on the right side of the instrument cluster - push it till you get the service display, then pull it out and hold for five seconds or so. If this doesn't work, push the reset button( bottom of right stalk) while pulling the button out.
