I am considering purchasing snow chains for my Audi A3 170 bhp quattro that uses 225-45-R17 wheels and tyres. Can anyone please advise whether the Thule Summit external fit snow chains can be used on the above Audi and whether I would need 2 pairs (view the AWD quattro system)?

Please note that advice from various quarters is both confusing and misleading with many people advising against view wheel arch and or suspension clearance.
