Just a few feel free to pick from them so far i think that olivers "The A3 is sporty compact wagon offering the perfect mixture of performance, design and versatility." is the best. I do however feel we should intigrate the phrase "speed sled" i just like the way it sounds!!

Is there a difference between hatchbackand sportback or is just another Audi way of saying a wagon without saying it?

BTW- I am still not talking to my colleague that said "you are driving that station wagon out there?" [:@]

 

What I keep thinking about is the "fun aspect" of the A3 versus the A4. When you take it for a drive, its nimble, quick and as Audi says proof that luxury comes in all sizes.

So maybe something like: The A3 leads in pure fun where other's simply try to keep up, its award winning engine combined with its interior design makes driving on any road exciting!

 

I also despise the word "wagon" when used to describe the A3.... except by my insurance company, of course! I always refer to my A3 as a hatchback. I do like the fact that it doesn't look too outlandish, I have surprised quite a few ricers at stoplights. It's the perfect sleeper. Plus, it kinda flies below the radar as far as law enforcement is concerned.

I do love the A4 Avant too. Someday when I have a family I may look at upgrading to one.

Back on topic though, I agree with Chef, the description should be changed.

I read sometime ago somewhere that and Audi exec had mentioned that the A3 was a 4-door rendition of the TT

I'd use JohnS1's 4th suggestion, just slightly tweaked: "The A3 combines the sportiness of a TT with the luxury of an A4 to produce a versatile and agile compact 4-door hatchback."

 

Indeed, the A3 and the TT both share the A5 (PQ35) platform.

I like this definition, but I would omit the 4-door part. Our friends on the other side of the Atlantic get both the A3 and S3 with 2 doors (lucky bastards!)
