Default Tricky One...!

Hey everyone!

Iv had some great advice in the past that has saved my car AND me!

See if you can do it again

IDLEING!

When my Audi A3 1999 1.8T Sport is turned on, it idles perfect, rev it while stationary PERRRRRFECT!

Drive it in gear come to a stop (at lights etc.) the needle bounce from 300-500rpm back to 1000-1300rpm, and keeps bouncing as if it is trying to cut out, whilst stationary if i give it a little rev it levels out?!?!?!

It has managed to cut out once, when i was breaking and going rounnd a bend (about 7mph) its only seems to do it when i am coasting or coming to a stop (out of gear)?

Any ideas?

CHEERS EVERYONE!

Sounds like a dodgy sensor or sensor connection - engine speed, road speed, air mass, etc.

Would be worth getting somebody to read the fault codes from the ECU to see if any of the sensors are acting funny...

Hope this helps.
