Newbie here so please bear with me

Could any of you with a wealth of knowledge answer me this question.

Is it possible to upgrade my headlights A3 (05) to the xenon headlights with the day running lights seen on the newer A3 models

Hi,
I was on the Toyota Rav 4 forum the other day and the same question was asked. In a nutshell the answer was no as they need special units an wiring and are quite difficult to do if you are not an auto electrician.
I have to be honest and say that I have the lights you refer to and they are good but my wife tells me the daytime running lights are 'tacky' and make the car look like a chav car.
I'm going to keep the car but am thinkling it might be time to trade 'er indoor in for a newer model.
