Default Want to replace my S-Line suspension

I live in a city and surrounding area with TERRIBLE streets. The S-Line suspension only seems to magnify this fact. Is there a swap out there that would make the suspension much smoother? At this point I would happily trade handling for a smoother ride. I don't race my car or have the need for a sport suspension anyway. I would rather have a car that is enjoyable to drive and doesn't feel like it is going to shake itself to death on less than perfect roads.

I have checked and set my air pressure to exactly what the manual says, so I know the suspsension is what is making the ride so harsh.

Any ideas? Any aftermarket kits that would give me a smoother ride? Can one swap SLine companents for standard A3 components?

TIA

Default Really? No ideas for a softer suspension?

Can I swap what I have for the normal suspension? Is there no aftermarket solution?

Would I be better served posting this question on a different forum? Which?

Thanks

yes you can swap out the s line suspension for the normal suspension. the only difference the s line has is stiffer springs/shocks and a thicker, stiffer sway bar. you might be able to find people on the forums who have swapped out their stock suspension and may be getting rid of it for cheap.

as for aftermarket, check out the Koni FSD shocks. i'm sure there's some posts about it on the forums. they're designed specifically to be stiff when you need them to be but forgiving on bumpy roads.

where do you live anyhow? i live in Downtown LA, and the streets here are just horrible. i feel like i'm always driving through a mine field.

Thanks for the response. I like in Milwaukee. You'd think with the prop taxes I pay, Milwaukee would have the smoothest streets possible!

Cold weather + Plows + Salt = terrible streets

I have a set of standard springs off my 07 A3 sitting in my garage after I replaced them with Eibach Pro-kit springs last year for better handling. If you're up for it, I'll trade ya.

I'm with you on this. Just bought a '09 S5 and the suspension has turned out to be rough on my Ohio roads too - would like a smoother ride. Sacrilege I know, but 95% of my time is just daily driving.

Can anyone tell me what other models, if any, besides the A5 that would fit my car?
