What's the difference between 08 and 07?

I don't like power seats.

I skiped the premium pkg on myBMW to avoid 'em. They are worse than useless, evenif they (in the Audi and they did in theBMW) come with key'd memory.
To each their own I guess, but I think it's a little far-fetched to call power seats "useless". Their utility is directly proportional to how often you need to make seat adjustments, and I find that I do so fairly often. Some examples:

1) When I take he car to the car wash or in for service or even valet parking, people always change my damn settings because I'm short [:@]
2) I have different preferred seat postures for short and long-distance driving (seat farther back, seatback wider angle for long-distance)
3) I road-trip a lot and I usually eat drive-thru in my car. I drive with my knees to leave both hands free for eating, which requires a completely different seat/steering wheel setup.
4) When friends drive my car, they usually change settings

So, if you never change your seat seetings then yeah, power seats are pretty useless for you. However, the most people do change seats frequently enough that they are a nice feature, so in general, they're hardly useless. They also features that are unavailable with non-power seats, such as seat tilt and adjustable lumbar support. And of course, it just doesn't seem right to get into a so-called luxury car and have to reach under your seat for those damn levers. It just feels so cheap.

I'm new here, and this will be my first post, but I'm in the market to get an Audi A3, and a dealer in Texas pasted the following information for me, regarding the changes from the '07 to '08 models (hope it helps!):

The following summary provides information on equipment steps in model year 2008, per carline.

A3

The A3 is not receiving any major changes for 2008 MY. There are no exterior changes other than wheels. The following are changes to standard equipment:

- Tire pressure monitoring added

- Driver information display added

- Sirius satellite radio added (3.2 model only)

- Auto-dimming interior mirror with compass added (3.2 model only)
Most communication-worthy is certainly satellite radio/auto-dimming mirror on the 3.2 model and driver information display on all models.

Exterior color Ice Silver replaces Light Silver. Dakar Beige and Liquid Blue are no longer offered.

The following are changes to the wheel program:

- Base 5-spoke wheel 17" is the same

- 17" wheel in S-line package on 2.0TFSI models is 5-spoke design and matches the standard wheel on the 3.2 models

- 17" bi-color wheel is now in the Premium package

- 18" 5-arm wheel available as option on both models
Following are major changes to the option programs for 2008 MY:

- 18" wheel now available as an option on both models

- Manual rear sunshades are available

- New S line Titanium package available with 18" Titanium wheels, Titanium grille, piano black interior trim and black headliner (may not be available for ordering until May).

- iPod integration becomes available

The titanium option sounds sweet, especially for the wheels to reduce unsprung weight! I wonder if it is actually titanium or just a titanium-colored option? The compass in the rearview mirror (like the A4) would also be very handy, wish my 07 3.2 S-Line had that.

Ice Silver replaces Light Silver?

Is it a different color or are they just changing the name?

Someone else who posted about their 2008 A3 on order said that Ice Silver is a bit darker than the 2007 silver.

I wonder if the Ice Silver will essentially replace both the Light Silver and the Lava Gray in one swoop by splitting the difference?

It's a titanium colored option - they're the usual Audi -Ronal bricks.

And don't you just really want to know what "iPod compatible" means to Audi.

Love my A3. Love Audi engineering. But to this point they haven't really gotten the concept of iPod compatiblity besides making sound come out the speakers.
