When Do You Get A Loaner?
Just got my car serviced at Clair Audi in Norwood, MA. I had 3900 miles on it and they didn't give me much crap about coming early for the 5k service. Even though the whole thing took 45min, they loaned me a Benz C class for the day with around 11k miles on it. It drove like a boat. But the service there was excellent I brought my laptop expecting to have to wait there for the service and wouldn't have minded that looking at how they had flat screens, and cafe and free wifi.
penske will provide a free loaner....just let them know you need one when you make the appointment. they've had their fleet of A4 loaners since early summer
I get a loaner everytime I bring mine in for an oil change. I also got a loaner for a seat replacement that took only 1 hour. Always newer A4's and A6's to. This is the original dealer I purchased my car at.
But I called another Audi dealer to schedule an oil change, since I moved and its closer, and they wouldnt give me a loaner for an oil change. I cancelled the oil change request, I'll never take my car there.
Some dealer's make a big deal about giving customers loaners, its ashame.

I wonder why the dealerswon'tset up the windows rolling up/down with the keyfob option ? It's easy to do, with all of the information available in this forum and from Ross-Tech. When I took my car in for the 5K service, they reset all of the codes to default for some reason, but 5 minutes with the VAG-COM fixed it back again.
on topic, the dealer loaned me a nice newA6 for the 5K service on my A3. That was nice, and it made me happier that I had the A3 (A6 is (for me) a boat - previous cars: rabbit, '86 GTI, '97 318ti, now '07 A3).

i think your service advisor supposed to ask you if you are going to wait for the car or if its gonna take more than 1 day they should offer you a loaner or at least a free shuttle.
its different for each dealership
