where are the earth/ground points on an audi a3
Hi There,
Des anyone happen to know exactly where the earth points are on a 1997 A3 sport? I need to check them for corrosion/bad earth. I've found three to the right of the battery (as you face the car) and another three in the rear, inside the sub compartment but I'm oblivious as to the whereabouts of any others. My stereo is hissing, the instrument cluster does not always show the mileage and the lights are also very dim. From my research, I've been led to believe that the earth is the cause of these problems. I've cleaned the earth points by the battery and this has made a difference to the lights but the other issues still remain. All I need are the exact locations so i can check and repair as needed. Many thanks in advance, cheers all

Hi All,
Just an update as to the where abouts of the earthing points:
x 3 next to the battery,
x 3 in the rear by the sub,
x 3 on the steering column, above the inner trim in drivers side footwell,
x 1 under the scuttle, just in front of the ECU.
All cleaned and back to bare metal, so far so good! all my faults appear to have gone, result!
