Wipers with Rain Sensors

Wipers with Rain Sensors
Drove home in the rain tonight, and I had the wipers on low. When I came to a stop after about 5 seconds the wipers would revert to the intermitent mode. Go again and they would work as normal. I re-read the manual and it makes it sound like I have the rain sensor option, but I don't think so. I'll test it out tomorrow to be sure. I do have the cold weather option and wondering if it's part of that group.
It's amazing that I've had this car for over a year now and I still find something new.

A3 wipers switch to a lower speed or off when the car is stopped. I think that feature is there whether you have rain sensing wipers or not. (My '93 BMW did the same thing, and definitely didn't have rain sensing wipers.)
Rain sensing wipers work variably when the wiper switch is in the the "Intermittent" position. "Low" and "High" speed switch positions work normally. So if you switch to Intermittent, and the wipers operate on a dry windshield, then you do NOT have rain sensing. If the DON'T work on a dry windshield, then you do have them.
I don't think that they were associated with the Cold Weather Package, which I don't have (darn).
