ok that was what a 01 right so i would be able to do this in my 96... in the begining you were talkin gabou tredoing the motor mounts id have to do that too correct? assuming the vr6 in the video is turbo it wouldnt wrk i saved it too but anyway what would just the VR6 get get non turbo? and you said about 7k.. i mean i did only pay 3k for my car but i do need an engine so if the answers i get back sound good i will do this swap and save the money to possibly turbo it.. then my luck blow it up

 

yes, you can do it with your car. you actually have a perfect canidate for it. buy the cheapest audi you can, and replace EVERYTHING

for the swap expect to pay about $7000 for parts only just to get the car running. and this is with it turbo'd(which is the only reason you should do the swap). then you need to figure in everything else you need to do to the car with that much power. suspension, brakes,etc....

Engine core = 24V = $2300US or so.Expect to pay mpre for a 3.2
Oil pan = $350US
Plate + flywheel + starter = $1000US - $1500US
engine mount brackets = $350US

that does include the cost of custom intake manifold and turbo manifold + turbo.
that being said...a simple compressiond ropping gasket will give you 450whp right off the bat

 

Or copy them and get a used 12v for..... $800-1000.

 

actually their 12v probably cost more than what i just posted.

what that estimated $2300 motor price is, is the $300 motor you get out of "insert mom&pop junk yard name here" andoverhaulit with
bearings
rings
chain tensioner kit
forged pistons and rods
arp head studs
gaskets
etc..

bringing a 24v 2.8 engine to about $2000-$3000

 

but you can for-go the forged internals and just get a compression dropping gasket which will save you over $1000 from what i just posted. you can handle 500whp on that alone. whichi is more power than most will ever need

 

I was talking about him jsut getting a decent motor and just dropping it in. For some reason i dont think someone with a 12v A4 is looking for a 500awhp car. If he wants boost, a t3t4 50 or 60trim at 10-12psi would do.

 

yeah, for some reason i forget that not everyone wants 500whp...
