One of the guys in my vdub/audi group has had his B5 flashed for around 75000 miles with no problems.

no, i am saying the engine blows.

basically what the chips or flashes do, is tell the computer to be more "aggressive," essentially forcing out more power from the engine than audi originally intended.

i would do it, but it's about 6k to replace a blown engine and i paid for an extended warranty for 3 more years.

Meh, if you drive the snot out of your car now, then your engine is no better off... likely better to have it tuned for such driving, if you're going to drive that way anyways.

The turbo would go long before the engine... so your 6K figure would likely never come up --- and k03's are cheap as hell.
