that is if you dont need a larger maf housing. If the s4 works, then it would be fine for 300whp

just because it is good for 300hp, which is not that much( i know for and audi it is amazing), does not mean that is is not restictive comapared to a CAI. A stock itake maay be able to keep up with a 300hp does not mean it is not resticitve, most cars come stock with close to that and the all run an equally restricitive intake most stock intakes flow at about 300-400 cfm where as most CAI or just simply intakes flow at 800-900 cfm and in the case of so intakes for carbed cars a 1000 cfm

On the rivet note, just use a 1/8 inch drill bit and it takes em right out. or use whatever sive the hole for the rivit is, but they are mostly 1/8 inch

no matter how hard you try this topic has been beat to death so many times...cai's are worthless on our cars if you are looking for hp gains plain and simple

Buy removing the sealed intake setup you loose your ram air effect which on the move makes a difference in forcing the air in to the car.

I understand why BT guys have to run an open filter due to (mainly) space but even then they try and feed as much could air in to the intake that they can plus shield of the heat away from the intake.

Take a look at modern bikes they don’t use open filters but rather use large intake at the front of the bike to ram the air in to the engine as this setup will boost power.

So if you are looking for an aftermarket intake then you should look for one that is sealed and will work with the current snorkel or offer another means to take direct air from the front of the car.

BMC/CDA is a good set-up type as it used a sealed Carbon intake (Good heat resistance) and can be custom fitted to work with the Audi snorkel.

Here's my old 2.8SC set-up which worked very well with my set-up with noticeable gains, not major but noticeable.

The only good things about this air intakes is that you get a nice intake sound when you hit the gas that it.

Oh and they look good new.

yeah well that intake only receives air from the ram air, and it looks like the pipe going from the snorkel to the carbon filter has a few bends and is restrictive. whereas the open filter can collect more air. the air maybe colder with a ram air setup but as cincy stated before flow>temp
