on a serious note i dont know, try to find someone with a vag com, hook it up to ur car and see if it gives you any error codes</P>

 

I joined this forum because I have the same problem as this guy, 1999 A3. that's it, start the engine and then you get four bleeps from what appears to be comming from the back of the car. not regular, no pattern.................. Help!!

 

is your car trying to tell you it needs to have the oil serviced? just throwing it out there

 

I read somewhere that it has something to do with level of battery charge. So if your battery was just OK, and it was really cold last night it would beep at you. I hope that helps.

 

what gene said makes sense.

i have noticed that beeping as well intermittently, and looking back on it, it did seem to be extremely cold when it happened.

really cold weather tends to mess things up.

Turn your key to the on position. Check and make sure you see your abs light, check engine, and air bag light. I have bought cars from the auction with the same audible beep only to find someone has taken the cluster apart and covered the light with tape. ABS usaly makes that kind of tone
