I can afford either, I just don't want huge repair bills. Opinion?

 

i think they are both reliable, though im not sure about the early s4's, the real choice is do u want styling or power...

 

the a4 will cost less to maintain, just because it will be 5-7 years newer.

 

late 90's a4, no question.

audi almost lost its entire reputation in america because of terrible reliability issues with early models.

these issues were not fixed until the late 90's, culminating with audi's strong resurgence in the last few years.

you say you're concerned with repair bills...don't even think about buying the s4.

 

URS4's are crazy fast I love them personally and they have gobs of potential [sm=drooldude.gif]

Dude, **** that...mid 90s S6 is the way to go. I go on drives with a whole crew of those things and those are some seriously badass cars. If you get a 95 S6 with just a chip you're gonna be almost at 300hp. And the 5 cylinder engine in those things in indestructable. You can upgrade to huge RS2 turbos (the audi racecar). There would be absolutely no question...look for a mid 90s S6. Seriously man if I could go back in time there's no way I would have my A4.

Late 90's A4 of course.... You shouldn't have even asked that question. You know deep down inside that for the money, you would rather have the A4 instead of the 93 S4! I know I would!!! Stop playing ping-pong in your head on this issue. Get the A4 and mod it out if you want!
