â–²SHOULD I BUY A 1998 A4 QUATRO FOR $7500
I don't know if AUDIs have a lot of problems when they hit the 100K+ mileage mark, can anyone please help me out. I'm low on cash and can't afford more, but love the style and the power of the Audi.

exterior black
Interior grey cloth seats
Electronic climate controll
heated seats
heated mirrors

power sunroof
alloy wheels
foog lights
Bose Music Sustem(8 speaker)
FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED! thanks guys

it depends on how well it was taken care of....poorly maintained audis are garbage after 100k...but that's not usually the case with these cars...ask for receipts, check if it was maintained at a dealership...has it had the timing belt replaced recently? that will set you back at least a few hundred bucks, and needs to be done if it wasn't already...
I just got a 98 A4 with 89K milage for $7900. Very similar to the one you are looking at but this has black leather interior. I am very pleased with mine. My only concern is a brake pulse problem I am feeling which is being addressed on a different posting.
If the car looks like its been taken care of, I won't worry, but time will tell with mine too.

i'd say, if it looks clean, and drives clean....listen for squeaky suspension, control arms...if you here clunking, that's probably your tie rod ends...if you hear a clicking in low speed turns, that's the cv joints...it's not uncommon for these parts to fail on higher mileage cars...if you can already feel those problems, deduct the repair cost from the price of the car. if you don't feel any suspension play, than you know the car has been taken care of...
BG,
I recently bought a 98 A4, 81k miles, 2.8 manual trans for $8100. I did rear brake pads & tires immediately. The timing belt etc. has been done and also the control arms etc. Sounds like an OK deal, do the timing belt etc if it hasn't been done.
Regards,
Keith
