As you may or may not know i am looking for an A4. In my searches i have discovered i may be able to get an 02 for the same price as an 01. now what are the major differences in these cars besides the obvious body change? I like the looks of a 01 better but the 02 is starting to grow on me (the back is still too rounded for my tastes).

If i were able to get an 01 and 02 with all same options and same price what sould you suggest? last year of an old model so all the problems are worked out or brand new model with possibly more problems?

Let me know what you would do.

Also for the 02 do they have the sport and winter packages like the 01 or are there different names for the options?

 

Well, what are you looking at?
Quattro? mileage? turbo or v6? manual or tip?it all makes a difference.
Service records? mods? whats the deal?
Both are good cars, I prefer the b5 myself, but it all depends on the options.

 

exactly, the b6 2002 has more room but the b5 has tons more accessories upgrades, and the likes, B6 arent represented to well here deff get on and help us even out the ratio

 

i am looking for a quattro, 1.8t, 5spd, as little miles as possible.

As for mods i will at most chip, intake and exhaust and that would most likely be it.

At least you know what you are looking for. For what you are planning, either platform will be fine, just find the best one you can, and dont worry too much whether its b5 or b6 if it has the things you are looking for.
