Hello All,

I am new to the board. I have an 01 with a fairly new turbo, brand new diverter valve, and a recently cleaned mass air flow sensor. Under heavy acceleration you can feel good boost, then it will feel as if boost is lost and it flattens out, then boost kicks in a again. Ultimately is feels like a surging of the engine. No check engine light is present.


Any thoughts on this is greatly appreciated, it is driving me nuts.

 

Turns out it was a partially clogged fuel filter that was resulting in the surging. Any of you A4 owners with mileage on your car who are experiencing surging, don't just check vacuum and boost lines for leaks, think fuel as well.
