Any one know why my car make a deep clunking noise in first gear. It only when i turn corners from a stop in first gear. MAybe it has something to do will having Quattro? Not sure Anyone?

 

it maybe your tanny mounts or it maybe the shift likage, ive heard they cause alot of slop when shifting, everytime i shift you can hear a little clunk of the shift mech doing its thing, theres a DIY on audiworld to get rid of the rubber bushing on the shift linkage. it also may just be you need to replace the tranny oil and worst case scenario you have to repalce the tranny. which i doubt. also does it make the noise going to gear or when you actually start to move. also does it clunk going into any other gear.

 

Makes the noise when i put it into first and also wheni shift into second.All others gears are smooth.Do you know how much it cost to have the trans fluid changed or is it a easy DIY. I have access to a lift and tools. ?
