Default 01 boost question

I just bought my 01 a couple months ago and justput in my boost gauge. Its the only mode i have so far. i searched the forums and found that most stock A4 are running 7 psi. My car is boosting at 10-11 psi. How could that be? Need some help figuring this out.

that sounds normal to me....the 10-11 is a normal spike on my a4 in 90-100 deg weather...during the cold months I spike at 13-14...but I usually hold between 7 and 9psi...

sounds like you don't quite have a handle on what you are looking at, the turbo psi will spool up super high and then it will gradually decrease in the higher rpms until it completely stops and holds at a single psi level (7 or 8 psi stock)...

the 10 to 11 you see is most likely your spike, if not there are one of two things you must take into conseideration

1-you bought a piece of **** boost guage that doesn't work
2-you are chipped, you could have a really lousy tune or an intense boost leak

good luck!

if your boost is low its a boost leak, if your vac is low its a vac...and if there both low you either have both or a bad guage...

good to hear your guage is working well, it will help you big time in the future, espacially after you get chipped

Here is something simple i want you to do. Go to your n75 and see if its still on-time-use clamped into the intake. If the answer is no, then like i said before, your most likely not using the stock n75.
