My sister has 02 A4. She was driving today up a hill today and apparently the car slipped out of gear. She had her foot on the gas and redlined the car for about a second. After that, there was a burning smell in the car. She has not driven it since this happened.

Is there anything she needs to do? Take it to a repair shop? look for oil?

ya probably just burned the clutch. no problem. she can drive it

 

Just exhaust smell from being in too high of a rpms without moving nothing to worry about... probably

 

it should be fine but teach your girl to drive up hills so it doesnt happen on a big one and she blows it

 

Yep, she burned the clutch... Doing it once a in a long while wont hurt it, but if you smell that occasionally your doing something wrong

 

ya just a burned clutch, they can smell pretty bad
