My father purchased a '03 A4 with a 1.8T engine back in 2003. Now that the car is getting older and the factory warranty has expired he has a couple questions that the dealer can not answer. His car has 5,500 original miles ! Yes 5.5K !

The first question is simple - oil change intervals; what would they recommend. I'm pretty sure they said to replace it every 6 months (ie. forget the milage) Sounds about right.

Second question, actually I asked but did not receive a good answer, is regarding the timing belt replacement. What would be a good guideline before the belt breaks ? Milage or x months/years ?

Any suggestions ?

i say Oil every 2 & 1/2 k


as for the mileage on tbelt etc.etc- - - at 60Kto70k time to change it.

 

audi services oil changes onlyh every 10k miles with synthetic oil. i feel this is a lil to much say every 7k, but if you use synthetic you def dont have to change any more than that, and with timing belt dont worry til about 60k

 

Do you mean oil change every 2,500 miles ? That's about 2 years for that car....any sludge issues ?

TB at 60-70K --- OK

i change mine every 5,000 and tb around 60,000, you should be good for along time, use only synthetic.
