03 A4 mod question
I have a 03 A4 with full APR exhaust, 93 specific burn (chipped), TT injectors, Ksport coilovers, and 18" race mesh wheels with GSD3 tires.
I am about to add a 2x intercooler(mounts in stock location)or front mount, but my friend says I may need re-tuning. Are the programs from ECS tuning cookie cutter, or will I need another re-flash when I bolt on the larger intercooler?
They switched to direct port programing around the 03 model year (so no chip swap). I live right down the street from ECS tuning, so they used a laptop to reflash it (I think they called it the "injector fx program" claimed-235hp, 245tq). The TT injectors are part of the reflash tuning.
The files may be to big, but for some reason I cant get my A4 pics to load, so check themout at photobucket. Its been lowerd about 4 inches, the wide18x8 rims,GSD3 tires(soft compound) and Ksport coilovers(36 leves of dampening adjustment) combined with quattro is insane. Italso has the "sport package", so I think that came with thicker sway bars than stock. People get so pissed off when I power into a high speed turn on a freeway on ramp :-)Other mods include IVA-D310 alpine 7" touch screen, and NVE-N872A Navigation.

I factored in more, because I figured the sport package was already an inch lower than standard A4's. We did in fact "slam it" when I first put the suspension on (should have taken a pic of that). I did have some rubbing issues when slammed every time I hit a bump, but it wasn’t as bad as you would think (the tires would just graze against the carpet for a moment). You can get around most of it by tightening up the suspension, modifying the wheel wells abit, and adding skid plates. I played around with the height for about two or three weeks before it was perfect and I had it aligned.
Also- notice how the wheel gap appears larger in the front, yet the ground measurement is even. I ended up lowering it an additional half-inchin the front(since the pic was taken)to compensate for the wheelie like appearance.
I have a quick question that is a bit un-related to your original postings but you and i have the same car so i figured i'd ask.
I've had my '03 A4 for about 6 months now and aside from some aesthetic upgrades and a sound system upgrade i havent seriously modded the car. I saw the list of mods that you'd done and I was wondering how big a difference you noticed from the chip and the exhaust to stock? I'm considering the APR stage 1 chip and the exhaust from LLTEK.

I got the exhaust/chip burn/injectors all at once, but the exhaust was the first to go on before the reflash and injectors. I didn’t notice much from just the full exhaust other than the sound, and the fact the exhaust itself was much lighter. It flows a lot better though, you wouldn’t believe how tiny the piping is on certain parts of the original. I ended up cutting the stock exhaust off at the down pipe because it was such a pain to get to the down pipe bolts (no lift, we had it on stands).
The chip/injectors was ahuge difference though, I had a stupid grin on my face the first time I floored it (after a quick warm up) on the way home from ECS. After a few weeks though, it became the normal and the quest for more power continues lol.
