hello I resently had some work done to my audi and had to replace my turbo with 65,000 miles. when i did i sounded fine until i got a muffler for it, then I noticed everytime I accelerated hard or suddenly then let off quick the valve for the turbo (im gussing) sounds like a bov would sound like a wistle. So i put my stock muffers back on but it still makes the same noise. I just am not sure if its something I should worry about or not, its normal when I start going it spools up and everything and seems like its getting the right amount of boost just when I let off, sometimes event easy it will make a "chirp" sound or high pitch wistle for around .5-1 sec. So any help on this problem or explanation would be great thanks.

well i have an 01 a4 1.8t 5v (same engine) and it never makes that noise

 

so how would it be normal?

 

sounds like DV is failing.... thats what my R1 did before it went out

 

if its when you lift off the gas, its the dv (diverter valve), it is normal. If you take the airbox cover and filter out you can hear it better. If it sounds like a splash or psshhh, its fine, if it sounds like a rapped goose, you have a blown/torn dv and it needs replacing

 

if i replaced it with a forge 007 dv would the engine light come on and will it do anything to the turbo

 

and is it the black round thing at the top left of the engine?

 

No, thats your PCV check valve. The dv is below your passenger side headlight. And no, swaping to a 007 wont do anything but improve performance if the stock dv is weak/torn
