bizarre. regardless, its cold here in the north east and i want it to be warm when i get in it in the morning and building a garage isnt an option..

Yea I know what you mean, its been like below zero here for a few days now and it sucks but i think the whole preheating thing is cuz it will build sluge and increase wear on your motor, really not a good idea to preheat man... Id rather freeze my *** of for a few mins than have to replace my motor

I heard they didn't put remote starts on Manuals a few years ago, but the technology got better so somehow it wouldn't take off if the car was in gear. I never saw that warming up too long was bad in the manual..that's interesting. But remember, engine wise..we have fuel injectors..not carborators so it isn't necessary in that aspect.

Yep warming up cars is left over from carborators as seakawkfan94 said. You are suppose to start the car and idle for 60 seconds or so. Then drive slowly keeping the RPM's below 3k or so. It warms the engine up faster by having a load on it. Just sitting and idling cold is hard on it.
