the 2.8's can have decent power after a good intake and good exhuast and the chip, 5 from intake, 10 from exhaust 10 from chip, 215 total maybe...

I refuse to race people who use NOS. Its like using steroids... Its unfair in competition
How is that unfair competition Thats basically the same as adding a bigger turbo, it gets the exact desired effect, which is to go down the line faster. When it comes to a flat out drag race all means of acceleration is acceptable. Its funny how most high displacement (V8) guys would say the same thing about boosted 4bangers.
Hey silveraudi98 just out of curiousity whats the hp with NOS, and whats the "electronic exhaust cutout"?
Exactly, it dosnt matter what is done to your car, whoever wins, WINS period. Go and build a faster car if you cant handle the kids w/ NOS.

i have a stock 2.8, last night i spanked a 1.8T with exhaust/intake/chip. Maybe he was just a horrible driver.

The original subject was a NA 2.8 vs a chipped 1.8t. The this guy was suggesting a 2.8 w/nos against a chipped 1.8t. You sound like Vin Diesel.

hheh... your probably right about that.. he might have forgotten to shift into 2nd gear. He must have been a horrible driver, because with those mods he should have beat you pretty easily. I have raced about 4 2.8's since ive had my audi and won every time. The first 2 times were with a dude that works at the shop where i got chipped at. He drove his wifes stock 2.8 to work because he was doing BT work on his 1.8t. Keep in mind he is manual and i am tip. I had him off the line both times by about a half of a cars length, and about one full car length at about 80 mph when we ended it. All i had was a chip and he was all stock. We did this twice and the result was the same both times. The 3rd time was on the highway we were running at about 60 mph and went for it up to about 110, and there was NO comparision. I had him by at least 2 car lengths. The 4th time was my neighbors 12v, and i dont think i need to explain about that one. These are just my stories of 1.8 vs 2.8. From my experience a chipped 1.8t can beat a 2.8 4 out of 4 times.. Being that is what the first post in this thread was relating to, i consider this relevant information for those that think a stockish 2.8 can "spank" a chipped 1.8t" with misc. mods.

I'm not really sure how much hp my car is putting down, if I were to guess i'd say maybe 250. The exhaust cutout is an electronic mechanism that opens a port in your exhaust system when you push a button. Im kind of going for the ulimate sleeper thing. Now for all you people out there who are constantly goin on about how the 1.8t is better and much easer to mod your absolutley RIGHT. When i got my audi i really wasn't planning on doing anything to it but as I started getting used to it I figured what the hell. I could have easally sold my 2.8 and gotten a 1.8t but i decided to try something a little different. Another thing for people who are so tight bummed about nitrous. In no way shape or form is nitrous cheating. It is something you put on your car to make it faster, just like anyother mod that you would do. All and all I love my car, even without all of the hp potential as the 1.8t.

I have a 2.8 30v with magnaflow exhaust all the way through, and a K&N drop in fitler...that means I can keep up with a 1.8T that has been chipped/exhaust/intake. I wonder who would have won if the 2.8 had an intake.
