1.8T all the way......make sure it comes equipped with quattro and its manual so you get the most out of it.....also go with a black on black preferably an '01....then u can add the APR chip to it, Diverter Valve, TURBO cat-back exhaust system, and then later down the line go with a upgrade on the turbo(KO4)......You will be flying down the road...and make sure the timing belt has been changed on the car if it is close or over 60,000mi.....i know theres more but cant think of it right now......anyone wanna add....?

lol well someone's a little biased towards their car

giac is the best choice for b5's tho. search the forums, there is LOADS of info that has been repeated many many times.

Thank You guys. I'm newbie in engines, but the question is: If you have 1.8 engine (a4 is heavy car) + you upgrade your turbo + chip it and etc, ins't it to much for a such small engine? ))
Does it use much more of engine resources?

P.S. so a lot of people says choose apr or a neuspeed chips, other say giac. What do you suggest?
P.P.S. How much do you for your insurance, lets say 2001 1.8 t (19 years old). Thank You!!!
P.P.P.S Thank's

1.8t for the speedy and 2.8 for the cruiser but it's pretty fast as well compared to some cars but easy going

giac or apr depends on the mods you want to do down the road like ko4 stuff like that

your insurace will be 65 more a month

engines are built well with regular matience your engine will hold no probs but will age faster...more power your try to squees out of it the less longer it will last... you basically making it work harder.. more stress on the componets that make the enigne run

the 1.8T is a very nice piece of german engineering, and u can get quite a bit of power out of it. Best chips depend on year of car for a b5 its GIAC, b6 Revo. do not go with neuspeed i heard they blow. as far as insurance goes its not that much. it really depends on where you live and the options you get but im turning 19 in 2 days and i pay like 2200-2400 a year with like the best insurance ever and only a $250 deductible. this was like an $1100 drop from my mustang so i was happy

Deffinately get the 1.8t and chip it. Although, a stock 2.8 isnt that much slower. The 1.8t is just more fun and the feeling and concept of boost is just great.
