I am in need of a 1.8t engine. My car is an 05 A4 1.8t with cvt. It was having major issues and I ended up taking the head off to replace the head gasket. The head was warp .012" so I had it decked to fix the problem. As I was cleaning the gasket surface on the block I noticed that all 4 cylinders had a nasty grove on the low side of the cylinders, then on closer look at it I noticed cylinder 1 and 4 have a crack running all the way down them! Arrgggg, hows that for buying the car and only getting to drive it home .
So if anyone has an engine they are willing to sell please let me know of the mileage and price of it. Or if anyone has bought a used engine from a company in the past and has good luck with them please let me know the company you bought it from.
