1.8T started smoking
I was adding some fuid to the winsheild washer tank today and the car was idleing, after a few seconds smoke started coming out of the exhaust and a bad burning smell. I shut the car off a few minutes and when I started it back up it seemed to stop. It also seems to have lost power. Could the turbo be going to crap? there is no codes showing on the dash and oil temp is good. Any ideas?

Restart the car and see if it does the same thing. What color is the smoke? Blue of white? I can't think of any connection between windshield washer and smoke, unless you were pouring it into the crankcase.
What is your coolant level doing? Any evidence of decreases?
Which engine year, mods?
Codes can be stored without tripping the check engine light, so you might want to see what is stored.
