Default 1.8T vs. 2.8

Hi guys,

So this is my first post (woo!)
I'm getting a B5 soon and am wondering about the differences between the 1.8T and the 2.8.
The specs I see here (http://consumerguideauto.howst...4.htm) tell me that the 2.8 has 40-20 more HP than the 1.8T.
Does the lighter weight of the 1.8T combined with the turbo make it faster than the V6, or does the V6 still prevail?
What are your guys' thought on the matter? Are there other things to consider?

the 1.8t with a chip (increases psi and timing) will be faster and get better gas milage than a 2.8. The only downside is that the 1.8t has more parts that can become problematic making the 2.8 seem more reliable

common, search or look at the sticky threads at the top. Theres more than enough info to keep you occupied for hours......
no, the 1.8T is alot slower stock than the 30v 2.8 but the 1.8 has endless mod possibilities

-Mr. Cincy has beat me to it.............

oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the 1.8T weighs 1000 pounds less, so it is faster.

Weigh a cylinder head and two more pistons and you have a ball park answer
