the sport type snub mount gives the engine a more solid feed back when changing gears so allows a more aggressive gear changing, a standard mount allows the engine to slap back to cushion the feel so theoreticly and mathematical it will improve performance depending on the driver of course

whats the point of chipping a 2.8? its not worth the money. minimal gains+lots of money=bad idea

I do understand that but I was refering to juice 88 and he doesn't have a chip. He said 0-60 in 7.2 fwd 1.8t. I dont see how a fwd is going to be .6 tenths faster 0-60 than a quattro.
And about the chip I think its a huge differance because the car is slow to begin with. I dont think 40 horse is going to knock 1 second off your times.

interesting...i see fwd audis being faster than quattros all the time.. 300 lbs makes a difference. no only in traction, lol, but in giddy up.

and a snub making you basically faster? lol, *flame thrower on*

the snub could theoretically drop your times. think about it. It is just like suspension. without it, your car rocks when you shift and that loses momentum. The stock suspension cushions your ride as to make it smooth. Aftermarket suspension is stiff and doesnt sag when you shift (at least only a little so we can neglect it) so less of you forward momentum is lost due to the sag. It's all a big physics problem yo!....lol

also the 1.8t needs that extra power just to make up what the 2.8 does normally

I don't buy it. In fact, I'm thinking about getting rid of my neuspeed snub because of the vibrations it causes.

All I can say is I have a chipped 97 1.8T quattro, and she hauls ***!

Haven't timed her, but I would bet it would beat a 2.8 any day.

Acetrebo your car is a 97 w/ 150 horse 1.8t. Im sure a chip would make your 0-60 time of 8.1 sec faster but I dont think youd be smokin me. The newer models ok, but yours I dunno. Your 40 hp would bring you to 190 same as me. I think it would depend on the driver. 2001 2.8QM
