Hi - hope someone can help with this. i have a 2001 A4 1.9tdi and there is a problem starting the car when the engine is warm i.e. she starts fine when the engine is cold - but if i drive for about 10km, switch off and leave the engine for 10mins, she doesnt crank. i have to leave the engine to cool back - almost to room temp, before she'll start again. no problems while she's running - no pinging or switching off or jerking.

The most common cause for this error (in diesel engines) is poor battery, so the starter can't crank the engine fast enough.

Have your battery checked, or if possible try a fresh battery when the error occurs.

I haven't found any Audi specific info on this error.
