12v overheating questions
umm, im not sure whats up with everyone here, but 12v 2.8 does not have electric cooling fan, it has an electric aux fan to draw air through the condensor for the AC but will only run when the AC is on, other than that it has a clutch type fan, which will not spin when the car is cold, but as soon as car warms up will start to spin, there are no electric connectors to this fan it is a viscous fluid coupling clutch fan that when the engine warms up warms up the fluid and will engage the clutch into the fan to start spinning it, if this is not happening your fan clutch is dead and needs to be replaced, other than that there is a proper alignment for how the thermostats are installed in the 12v motors so that needs to be observed as well, with all the coolant loss however, you need to figure out where that is all going, coolant just dosent "disapear" so is the car blowing white smoke to indicate a blown head gasket, is the car leaking water, all these things need to be observed and taken into consideration when figuring out this issue.
