i had my 18's on for 15 hours before lowering it, i DONT have sport suspension and i was really worried that it was gonna look horrible, but honestly it didnt look bad at all.. dont get me wrong, the second i got it dropped, it looked 100x better, but it didnt look bad at all...most people wouldnt even think twice about it unless your a car guy.
lowering will always add a little dress-up/performance to the car, but the wheels look fine without a drop right now. In short, does it look a bit cooler and handle a bit better with a drop, yes, but is it necessary after you get a gorgeous set of new wheels, not absolutely necessary. Maybe it can be you next mod down the line. Also, you do have the sport package right now, and I'm sure its settled in a bit since you've gotten the car. It will look great even without a further drop. The only time monster truck status comes into play is when you get the largest diameter wheels possible/largest series possible, and have no sport suspension whatsoever.
