O for modding reasons there is no other way to go 1.8 all the way but if I was just looking for something relible and it had to be a A4 I'd look at the 12V for sure

i'm more than likely just gonna be running a chip. that takes the 2.8, and you have better fuel econ (and aforementioned handling)
plus... turbos are just plain cool

well I am almost sure that I am not going to do any modding on the car (but I'll never know what will be on my mind) but 1.8t also more economical, but more propblems.

I'll just see what will come available to me.

thanks again guys

just one problem.. the turbo. and it all depends on how you look at it...
blown k03? YOUPPI! K04 time.

by how much it costs for a new turbo... you might as well be throwing a k04 in anyway. but yeah, 2.8s don't have turbos to blow.

but for me anyway, the cost of the cheaper insurance for the 1.8T over the 2.8 is a savings of over 3000 in 2 years
if my turbo goes within 2 years, and i buy a k04 AND APR chip... i actually SAVED money. you might be in the same boat

Are you sure that not that big difference in engines will greatly effect insurance?

Only way to find out is to contact your insurance company. I just checked, driving a 1.8t would decrease my insurance by $39.00 a year.
