Default 1998 audi a4 high pitch buzzing noise?

i was on the highway today in 5th gear and there was a high pitched buzzing-like noise that sounded like it was coming from either under the shifter boot or on the passenger front side of the car but i couldnt tell and the only time it goes away is if i push the clutch in or if i put the car in neutral. i got off the highway and it does the same thing if you wind out the gears. anyone have this problem before? im sure its something minor but i like to fix things BEFORE they break haha thanks

Just an uneducated guess since I haven't been in it. Would be throw out bearing. Have a mini at work w/ the same issue. Clutch in or neutral no sound

thats what i was thinking but i know what a bad throw out bearing sounds like and it doesnt sound anything like that, its a weird high pitched sound and it doesnt make the sound when you let up on the clutch like a bad throw out bearing would. thanks for the help though
