I'm new to this site ,and i'm gettin an a4 soon. I'm deciding between a 1.8 or a 2.8 a4. I will modify it either ways, but I want to know which is better in the long run, and is easier to find parts for. This will also be a daily driver. I already read the FAQ thread, but I want more detailed info.

Err, from one newbie to the other... before the regulars skin you alive...
The 1.8 turbo quattro is for those who get into their cars and like to mod. Plenty of aftermarket performance parts for that extra edge. It may not be considered as reliable as the non-turbo 2.8, which doesn't have that many mod options available. With some effort and $, you can get your 1.8 to have more horsepower than the 2.8, fyi.
Does any of that make one better than the other? No. It simply boils down to what you want and what you like. From your post, I would say you would probably lean towards the 2.8. Search a bit on the forum.

Search dude. I haven't been here that long and this question comes up at LEAST weekly.
If you want to mod it and make good pwoer go with the 1.8
If you're not into that and want something reliable get the 2.8
