2.8(30v) lagging?

2.8(30v) lagging?
I was on the road today and was driving normal when i noticed that when im in between 1.5k and 3k rpms my car stutters and lags a lil bit. its not very bad but its enough to have me concerned and my car? Anyone got any ideas or should i not be worried at all? Also noticed when i rev my engine high and when its idling down my muffler makes a kinda bumping sound?? dont know if that has to do with anything just thought i would add that. Thanks in advanced

ok i will get it scanned tomorrow. lets say thats the case.... what am i lookin at in damages and cost? if you could estimate..

When you say the exhaust is bumping what do you mean? Is it like a spuder? When I had my camaro the same thing happened my car was sluggish at low rpms and was spuddering. I ended up haking off my exaust and saw that the cats where blown apart and big pieces where clogging my exhaust. Cousing a restriction in flow. Some new cats fixed the problem.

thanks for all the quick responses... basically the exhaust thing I had noticed a while ago when i first got the car but thought nothing of it. As far as the "bumping/spudering" I just noticed it after i was playing around in the snow for a couple days. I am going to go get it checked for codes in an hour so i will keep you posted. thank you guys for all your help

I am having the same iusse and I have come up with 4 things it could be
1. Spark plug wires
2. TB needs cleaned
3. Motormounts needs fixed
4. inner CV joint
I was really thinking motormounts for mine flutters bad putting her in rev and the same as you all low levels or RPM ranges. But I had a buddy rev the V6 and I watched...the V6 jumped up 2 inches but it went up smooth and backed down smooth as well. Plus just the front lifted it didn't go side-to-side. I too have no codes at all and just had the sparks plugs changed less then 10,000 miles. I also had the alxes replaced 12,000 miles ago and have driven it softly. so now I am thinking my iusse is the spark plug wires or TB dirty as hell. So how many miles on her...when did you change the plugs are you the 1st owner??

I'm not the first owner and I have not changed the plugs yet to be completely honest. The car has 80k on it and I am praying that he did the timing belts and all the for the 75k tune up. The guy who I bought it from told me he did everything by the books, but im not completely sure he did so. The thing is the surging isnt very very bad but I just want my car to be reliable enough for me to be able to run it hard every once in a while and not have any problems
